You know I'm so overly annoyed with the lack of responsibility of parents for their own children's health. Someone started a post about whether or not it should be considered child abuse if you smoke with your children present. Why not? Why should a child be subjected against their will to a harmful chemical that could possibly effect their body. We as adults always talk about how we have the right to do this and we have the right to do that, well don't our children have to right to be unaffected by disgusting habits their parents have! If you smoked weed would you do it around your child? No, why? Because it's illegal. Well don't the health concerns from smoking give you a good enough moral reason not to subject them to it?
For those of you who read this and smoke, i'm not bashing on anyone for smoking, I use to smoke......just smoking with your kids walking down the street next too you, or smoking in the car, regardless of if the windows are open. It's just sad that some people can't let go of the nasty habit for the well-being of their children.
Second hand smoke increases the risk of Sids by 65%!!!!
Comments:
I am a smoker. I do understand about the car and in the house, I dont smoke in either places even when shes NOT there. But when Im walking with her and her father, I do smoke. I just try my best to make sure that Im my smoke is going opposite of my daughter, and if all fails I walk behing DH and DD. Ive been told I am a considerate smoker. (if there even is such one)
