I love fall. It is by far my favorite season of the year. I especially love it when I live in a place that actually has a "fall season" and the leaves turn beautiful colors and it gets nice and cool without being numbingly cold. I LOVE IT!
This year, I am looking forward to Halloween and Samhain!!!! I'm hoping to really do it up this year because my hubby is deployed and I want to give the boys something to really look forward to while he's gone. I've already gotten their costumes ordered and the Halloween decorations set a side. I'm pulling my fire pit around to the front of the house so that we can have a fire while passing out candy. I still have to decide if I'm going to be a fairy or Maleficent (from Sleeping Beauty).....I think prices will make my decision for me.
The next thing I am looking forward to is my best friend moving up here at the beginning of November. It's going to be great to be able to hang out and stuff again. We've been best friends since middle school, and she's like a sister to me. With us in the Air Force and her in the Navy, we haven't been able to see each other all that often in the past 7 years. I've really missed our friendship.
And finally, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the end of my husband's deployment. I'll be heading down to my dad's for the holiday, and possibly going down to my hometown for the Swine Time festival.
Another thing that I am hesitantly excited about is the election. It's a make-or-break election. If Obama wins, I'm throwing a party. A huge party. It will definitely make my year. If McCain wins, I'll be plotting our escape. I'm hearing wonderful things about Finland.
