Erin’s Kiddie Corner

I would like to begin by introducing myself and my family. My name is Erin, I am a 22 year old mother to a beautiful 7 month old girl named Naomi. She is a very sweet and social baby and an absolute joy to be with. I am married to Jeff, he works for Glass Services here in Salina. I have been blessed to be at home with my daughter for most of the first 7 months of her life. In my desire to continue being home with her I made the decision to open a home daycare. I am in the process of completed the registration requirements. I am very excited about this new business venture. I am passionate about providing my child and yours with the best that I have to offer. I will do everything in my power to ensure that they grow up to be a secure, healthy and confident children. I plan to operate a small daycare program. I currently have open positions for two infants under 18 months or two to three children 18 months or older. I may add one or two additional children after a while as long as I feel confident that all children in my care are receiving adequate amounts of love and attention. I look forward to forming long term relationships with my daycare families as I view the children and parents as extensions of my own family.

I have taken a college course in becoming Certified Nurse Aide but no longer wish to work outside of my home. As part of my Registration requirements I have completed the required training courses through Saline County Health Department including First Aid and CPR Certifications. I am constantly looking to further my education by reading and attending future courses with the county.

My home is located on the Northern side of Salina within walking distance to Oakdale Park. I plan to have a fenced outdoor play area and all the equipment necessary for children to play in our big back yard. We have one very friendly cat Lucy who stays outside and has been a part of our family for over a year. Lucy has all current vaccinations.

I offer a variety of learning opportunities, we love to read, listen to music, dance, go on walks to the park and play outdoors. I encourage exploring and feel strongly about child(ren) learning. For my parents I provide daily "report cards" and take many pictures to share so parents can see the fun activities their children have been partaking in. I will be participating in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). I prefer the nutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables so I make my own infant food in accordance with their standards.

If you are looking for quality care for your children I would love the opportunity to talk more with you. I feel very strongly about finding a "match" that will work well for your family and for mine. If you are interested in speaking with me feel free to give me a call at 785-404-6070. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Erin Prater
