Are you sick of politics yet? There are only 42 more days until Election Day. Have you made up your mind? Are you willing to hear the other guy? Are you planning on watching the debates? Hell, are you gonna even vote?
I spent the good part of the morning researching and reading other peoples views on the political system and about the candidates here at the Cafe. I found them very interesting. I thought I would share...
Read them all.
Come back here and post your thoughts. Let me know what you think!

Back to comment on the other two posts (2 & 4). Both really say a lot. Both make me a little bit sad to see how far we haven't come in this country... =(
This was in the top ten posts

Post 1: Not really sure how it relates to the issues involved in this election.
Post 2: Politics = Hypocrisy ... nuff said
Post 3: Anyone heard of the separation of church and state? What does religion have to do with the Presidency? Stop inciting fear with right wing religious rhetoric.
Post 4: Maybe THIS guy should run for President.
no comment i hate politics im not voting after all im pro choice but a late abortion is murder so i guess im not voting im a bad american
Didn't read the posts because I'm sick of all the arguing. After the election, none of the posts that were put on here are going to matter. I'm going to vote for sure. I'm going to watch the debates for sure. I'm NOT going to read anymore of the stupid one-sided posts. I'm going to watch the debates and make my decision. From my own research, McCain is closer to my beliefs but we will see.
That's why I did it. I chose posts that were so far right or left. I find it fasinating how passionate people are for their candidate. I love it. You learn from people. You learn about who they are and what they believe in. This is not about arguing, it's about learning about their beliefs, and how strong they believe in them. Some of the posts I strongly disagree with, but I respect their opinion. THAT is what THIS is about!
How can we live in a world and NOT be able to listen with open ears. We will NEVER change if we don't change that.
I had all of this nice and typed out for the first 3 and then clicked on the last one and it opened it in this window and erased everything! aghhhhhhhhhhh! ok here i go again. the short version!
1) I don't think that it's relevant how well a political candidate can "relate" to the "average person" because the only thing they need to do is understand us. The fact that one candidate or another can or can't "relate to us" is a mute point. The only bearing it would have would be a person that could relate to the average person might be able to have more empathy for them.
2)This was extremely leftist. I had to laugh at the Muslim comment. It sounded like this poster gets her political information from email spam. I've always said that any person who gets their candidate information from chain emails should stay out of the polls!
3) Was not so much about christianity as it was about abortion and "family values". This is where i eek a little bit towards the independant side. I am pro-life and believe that abortions should only be done in extenuating circumstances. However, I am all for gay rights. I don't see how anyone being gay would affect my family in the slightest. I don't like how it is being pushed on us so forcefully. Let them be gay but don't shove it down my throat. So maybe I'm a bit wishy washy on that subject. As far as church goes... I haven't been in ages, but my kids and I pray every night. (btw, we add MFFO in our prayers too... still praying for that federal tax exempt status. They don't know what it means but how could God not listen to my kids? They are adorable!)
4) Wow! I was actually floored by the violent undertone in this piece. It's really all about perception. Do I think that my black neighbor (who has guns) is a bank robbing thug? No, I think he's a family man with a gun to protect his home (same as we will be as soon as I get my handgun liscense). I can't judge something from such a racist point of view. It may have had good points in it but I couldn't even read through to get to the good points.

Yes, I've had enough! And yes, I WILL be voting--wouldn't miss it.
1st Post: I guess I don't see how anything in her post relates to the election.
2nd Post: Link didn't work for me. =(
3rd Post: I completely agree with one thing in the post... that it represents "fear mongering" from the religious right. IMO, Obama and Biden are most likely to protect our freedoms and better able to protect our country.
4th Post: Link just kept bringing me back to this post. =(
