Interesting and scary.

My son came home from school this afteroon and said look what someone gave me. It was a mechanical pencil. Didn't impress me too much because that is what they use in middle school....except when he unscrewed the bottom of the pencil and removed it..there was a 1/4 inch needle where the lead should have been. Needless to say I was shocked. That could really do some damage. Someone had taken the lead out and replaced it with straight pins. The more you try to get the lead down the longer the needle gets until it gets to the head of the pin then it stops. He said it was a shank...which I have heard of but never seen in this particular way. I was really upset and took it and him back to the school and gave it to the asst. principal. I did not want my son to get in trouble for it. Maybe I am old-fashioned but where do kids get ideas for these things?
I just wanted to let everyone know that this is the latest thing...well here....for the kids to have. I never would have known by looking at it.

wow. That is scary. I think the worst thing when I was a kid was the older kids were handing our LSD stickers. Little blue stars if I remember correctly.. you'd put 'em on your hand like a sticker, but it was laced with acid.

omg whats the world comin to? kids think up things that adults probably wouldnt in a million yrs.

I remember in school, the boys would put straight pins through the erasers on pencils to hit each other with in the leg during class. Kids are always going to come up with bizarre things so this doesn't surprise me.
OMG! Never would have thought of mechanical pencils being used that way. That IS scary. Thanks for the warning. Will be talking to my kids about this. wow....

yeah, im thinking the kids arent thinking......they see and hear about things and it gets into their head. I woulda thot SI tool, myself, since that seems to be a common thing now.
I heard a horror story of a kid threatening to cut the libs off of a classmate. He was 8 years old. totally sick. where the f**** do they learn that kind fo crap?
