We were at Target today and Audrey was pointing at something saying pretty. I steered the cart over to where she was pointing and she grabbed this wooden bead necklace (it was a dress up toy). I let her hold it because I always let her hold on to something to keep her happy/occupied while I get done what I need to get done and usually she loses interest in it after about 5 minutes and throws it either out of the cart or into the cart and she wants nothing to do with it. This wasn't the case this time. I was getting ready to leave and she had put the necklace down next to her on the seat of the cart, so while she was distracted I took it and put it back. This is when the screaming started all the way to the car. I mean screaming, tears pouring down her face, turning purple, not taking breaths kind of screaming. Boy was I getting dirty looks like I had done something horrible to her. I didn't really care because I knew I was right and she can't have everything she wants, but i really hate when people do that, but that's a different post all together. Back to my point, I thought for sure I had more time to have a sweet little girl who didn't really "want" anything, but I guess it comes with the terrible two, which, yes she has already hit. Oh boy, I am so in for it...sigh.
I had to laugh while reading this. I was buying my son a tractor at the toy store (his obsession is tractors.) and I had to take it away from him in order to pay for it........... talk about a blood-curdling scream. Everyone in the entire store stopped to see who was making all the noise. hahahahaha....................... oh man. I know it's only a preview to the terrible twos. Once they learn to talk and can tell you how angry they are on top of screaming and crying it's going to be pretty rough!
