When opening my e-mail today, I read on the comcast new page that Paul Newman had passed away at age 83.  He has been and always will be on of my favorite actors.  Who couldn't be trapped by those gorgeous blue eyes.  Reading the article brought wonderful memories of some of his all time great movies.  "Cool Hand Luke", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "The Verdict," "The Sting" and "Absence of Malice."  I have seen all of these with others, several times.

Not only was he a great actor, but also a wonderful person.  I have always been impressed with his solid marriage, something that today's Hollywood actors could learn from.   He cared about the world around him.  He stood out against the Viet Nam War,  developed camps for children with cancer, donated all profits from his salad dressing company to charities.  And he did all this just because it was a good thing to do.  He did not ask for credit for doing a good deed.    The world could use more Paul Newmans.   This weekend may be a "Paul Newman Movie Marathon".

Here's to a great man!!  You will be missed.

Memaw...

I knew he had been sick and was very saddened to hear of his passing. He was an awesome actor! He will be greatly missed! Prayers and condolences to his wife Joanne. He was one of the actors that made Hollywood great! He embraced his parts and played true to character in every one.
