Between cooking; loads of laundry; kids' homework assignments; the seemingly endless stream of children's birthday parties, it's easy to get lost. So many friends say they can't remember who they are, besides being a Mom. I was curious to know, how many of you Moms,(whether you work inside the home or outside the home...I detest the term working mother, because we are all working mothers) make time to go out with friends? (Minus the kids and husband in tow)
If you do escape with friends, what do you do and where to you go to reconnect with yourself?

After the holidays I think we all feel a little spent and left wondering who we are. I've found myself having my own identity crisis these days.
About 5 years ago I made a list of 100 things that brought me joy. At the time it was part of a writing assignment but it really made me stop and think what I enjoy. Just this week I found the list and it really made me take pause for a moment. You might think that 100 things might be hard to come up with but once you start it's like opening up a flood gate.
Not often. About a year a half ago 4 of us got together and had a slumber party at my friends house. Her kids were with their dad, we had the house to ourselves. We would have had cocktails, but 1 was pregnant, so we didn't. We watched chick flicks, ate lots of homebaked sweets, played board games, and truth or dare when we actually went to bed. I had no voice the next morning, I had laughed so hard.
My hubby and I usually go somewhere overnight around Valentines Day.
My usual time for myself is after the kids go to bed I take a LONG HOT SHOWER. It totally de-stresses me.
