My daughter is 8. We got her involved in soccer to keep her outside playing a sport and give her something to do other than arts & crafts.
Well, she started practice about two months ago, has been in three games now and is just barely starting to move around on the field during games.
Not sure if it is her inexperance or just what it is.
Anyone else have a daughter or son in soccer, around 8 years of age, for the first time? What is your experince in it?
Comments:
She'll be just fine, they are all still learning and the season and years of playing are young.....kids have to learn the basics and then feel comfortable enough to employee them, my kids began soccer at 6-8 yrs old too.....fun to watch them run around the field but everybody isnt always where they are supposed to be at that age or knows what they are supposed to be doing....and also the kids learn quickly who "they' think are the better players and often let those kids beat them to the ball or whatever and miss their opprotunity! She'll catch on, as long as she is getting out there, looking forward to her games and practices and enjoying it, that's all that matters right now! GO TIFF! What's her team name?

I have a nine year old boy. When he was 8 he wanted to play soccer so we signed him up. It took a few games for him to feel comfortable with everything. She will be fine. Good luck!
