October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Join the Cancer Crushers!

I am honored to have been asked by the Cafemom Team to start a Save Lids To Save Lives team.  My team is called Cancer Crushers and we need your support. 

This cause is near and dear to my own heart, as my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year, had a mastectomy, and just recently finished her chemotherapy treatments.  I am thankful that my mother had her mammogram and caught it early.  I hope she will live the rest of her life cancer free and will be with us for a long time to come.  You can read more about my mom's story here.

My mom and I are on a crusade in our small community to collect Pink Yoplait Lids.  For every pink lid received by December 31, 2008, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, up to $1.5 Million!  Won't you help my team to collect the most lids we possibly can?

It's simple really, eat Yoplait yogurt with the Pink lids, rinse them, save them, and send them in.  Join my team if you would like to.  All are welcome.  The more the merrier, and the more we work together, the more we can help contribute to this important cause.

Together, my mother and I have put up collection envelopes in various locations, my office break room (I know I've seen some Pink Lids in our refrigerator), our church, our local grocery and drug stores and in the teachers break rooms at our elementary school where both my mother and sister work.  If everyone who joined my team could do the same, think of what we could accomplish!

i lost my dear grandma in early '99 to breast cancer. good luck with the lid collections. i always do the susan b. komen 5k race every year here in seattle. every little bit helps... here's to CRUSHING this damned disease!

I would give you lids but I don't eat yogurt. :(
