Ok this month was six months check up for baby Jordain. As I'm there, the doctor asks me:
Doctor: "So what are you feeding her?"
Me: "Breastmilk"
Doctor: "About how often is she eating."
Me: "About every 3 hours or so."
Doctor: "Are you still feeding her at night?"
Me: "Yes"
Then she goes on to explain that Jordain should no longer be nursing at night. And that by now, she should be sleeping through the night. The I explain that she wakes up every night at 3 am like clockwork and won't go back asleep until you nurse her. Though she's not hungry she just needs it to fall back asleep. So she says "Try the pacifier". I'm like, "Tried it." She just spits it out and keeps on yelling.
A few nights ago I nursed her late, around 12 or 1am in hopes that she would not wake up during the night. It didn't work it just postponed it. She woke up at 4:40 instead of 3am...lol. So I decided that I was going to try and put her back asleep without nursing. Didn't work. She would not fall asleep. She yelled not cried but yelled as if she was screaming at me to give her, "her" breast...lol. It was absolutely hilarious. She kept turning towards my breast and rubbing them and trying to pull at my top. And she did this until 5:45 when I finally gave up. lol.
I just have one question. When do I get my breast back?
Comments:
You will get your breasts back when you take them back. lol the truth of the matter is, you'll have to wean her some day. I nursed both of my boys. When I said "no more", they said "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" but only for a couple of days lol. She'll adjust quickly. My youngest used to sleep with me and to wean him I had to start putting him in his crib. He cried a little bit but it was all right after that night. The oldest slept with me as well and i just rocked him without nursing him but he cried terribly. After about two nights, he was cool.
