My mil is coming today with 3 of her sisters.  Can we say stressed?  There is an anniversary party for a part of the family that lives near us.  We have lived on our area for almost 7 years and have never seen them.  They live less than 10 minutes away.  It has been years since my mil has seen them either, so it is a good opportunity for her.

Anyway, I cleaned the bottom half of our house yesterday, except for dusting, so it is good.  But, the top half needed some attention.  This is the first time she has been here for 3 years, so she hasn't seen our new place.  Needless to say, I am a bit preoccupied when I get up this morning.  I clean our bedroom before my husband goes to bed this morning so I don't bother him.  Then I clean the bathroom and start laundry.  I go in to wake up the boys to get them started.  Of course, it is only 8 am and they think I am so mean.  All week I have been telling them I will let them sleep in, but it hasn't happened.  It hasn't happened for me either, so I don't really feel bad for them, lol.

As they are complaining about getting up, I tell them that I need their help to get their room clean and to help me get straightened up downstairs.  Nothing to major as I already did the hard stuff.  Of course, they ask why we have to get it done so early.  Mil is not supposed to be here until around noon.  I tell them that sometimes people will show up early to try to see how the house really looks before company.  Mostly, they are noisy people that want to find fault, but we have to deal with them anyway.  I tell them that I am not saying their grandma is one of those people, but they know the woman.

Our ten year old that is just barely awake makes me laugh out loud with his next comment.  His head buried under the covers and his little toes peaking out the other end, he says, "Whatever happened to being fashionably late?"

You just can't help but love kids.  Gotta give him credit, but this house is still as perfect as I can get it.
