Today, while reading the paper, I saw an article about the Life Chain (an anti-abortion event) that happens every year in Zanesville. Which I'm totally cool with. You've got to stand for what you believe in, right?

But, every year, in the article in the paper, somebody says:

"If my parent's were pro-choice, I wouldn't be here."

pro-choice   (prō-chois')
adj.   Favoring or supporting the legal right of women and girls to choose whether or not to continue a pregnancy to term.

Does everyone see that line? Favoring or Supporting the LEGAL RIGHT OF WOMEN. Does it say that being pro-choice  means that you are going to have an abortion? No. Does it say that you support women and their legal right? Yes, yes it does.

I don't care if you are pro-life or pre-choice. It's a personal decision. I just think that it is a little ignorant to make statements like that. I'm tired of being called a "baby killer." (My own father calls me this. Nice, right?)

"If my parent's were pro-choice, I wouldn't be here." Really? My son could show you differently. And he's 2.

if this were myspace i would give you kudos. =)

i got in a heated discussion with one of the very catholic ladies at my work about this 'event', i told her that i believe people have the right to say how they feel, etc.. but that sometimes the pro-life stuff gets too graphic and vulgar. she argued and said it has to be because there might be someone driving by that is considering abortion and they want them to see/know the 'truth'.... i went on to explain to her that abortion and the decision surrounding it was already traumatic enough... some women even get PTSD... they dont need this shit on top of it.

You can comment on my blog if you like, but don't put advertisements for your journal in mine. Stupid argument BTW, what is your point? That your son has a mother who approves of abortion and got to live to tell about it? Alright, luck kid!!!

Somebody has to speak up for those who don't have a voice.

Advertising, no. Sharing an opposing opinion that you clearly cannot respect? That sounds more like it. And my point... I'll really spell this out for you:

I SUPPORT CHOICE. SUPPORTING CHOICE DOES NOT EQUAL SUPPORTING ABORTION.

And I do love this phrase: That your son has a mother who approves of abortion and got to live to tell about it? Alright, luck kid!!!

Ignorance at it's finest.

And my son is pretty darn lucky. Lucky to have a mother with an open mind.

Lucky that he came around at a time that was "convenient" for his abortionist mom. (Yes, the dictionary delfines you as an abortionist, look THAT up). Not so lucky that he will probably have to learn his morals from someone else. Not so lucky that he might have or had his own siblings ordered to death by own his mom.

Now, don't get me wrong I'm all about choices. Choice to keep your legs closed. Choice to use birth control. Choice to choose adoption. Choice to keep your baby. The choice to destroy human life? NO.

Ignorance is not remembering what we learned in science 101, that LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION.  AND it's not just your body there's a little person living in there in one of the beginning stages of HUMAN LIFE.

Funny, he didn't come at a convenient time at all. I was 19, and had just started college. But, once again, as you keep missing, I would never have an abortion.

And don't you tell me about teaching my child morals. I don't value a word out of your mouth. I mean, you think it's appropriate to show your 2 year-old pro-life propaganda and brainwash your child? Fine. I show my son what I believe in, and let him choose what he believes in. I don't force it down his throat.
