I was having contractions 10 or so minutes apart all day Friday and about 3:30 they got closer together more like 5 to 7 minutes. I suggested to Jim that the 4 of us go into Lincoln and have one last dinner out together as a family of 4. And that way if the contractions were still coming or get closer we will be in Lincoln to go to the hospital. Well we ate at Applebees and the waitress was awesome and rushed our order b/c while we were there my contractions were 2-3 min apart. We took the kids to hang out with some family and Jim and I went to Labor and Delivery. At my appt Tuesday 30th I was still at a 1 dialation and disappointed since I was that way since Sept 4th, but when they checked me at L&D Friday I was almost a 3. They admitted me and told me that if I wasn't progressing by Midnight that they would start the pitocin. Well about 12:30 they started the pitocin and I didn't progress very quickly even with the pitocin. I did have the epideral right away, but I was still feeling the pressure of every contraction. At 7 am I was dialted to about a 4 and the Dr came and broke my water...after that I progressed much faster. Once I hit 7mm the epideral ran out and I started feeling an intense burning sensation and pressure of the baby coming out. The anethisiologist gave me something else to try but it didn't work within an hour I was 10 and ready to push feeling all the pain and oh my gosh OUCH! Down the hall was a c-section for twins w/3 doctors my nurse called them saying that one of them needed to my room pronto this woman is pushing and will have a baby here soon. The Dr showed up and 3 very intense and painful contractions w/pushes my baby was here. I asked the Dr not to say what the sex was, I wanted to look and see first (after 9 months of not knowing I thought it was only fair) When the baby was out and they were sucking out the gunk I pulled the legs apart and it was a GIRL!!
