inspiration for a tattoo

ok, if you have ADD, I wouldnt even BOTHER trying to read this!  lol.

I have in mind, what I want to get to be in memory of mama.

 

I want to get her cemetary tattood on my back/shoulder.

 

looking at her headstone, big enough to read the info on the stone, with the old moss covered pines, and, in the sky above the trees, the clouds in the sky are breaking, and, the rays of sunshine are shining down on the Ivy, Calla Lillys, and Red Roses that are decorating the site of her grave.  and, out of the sky, reaching down to lift her up to Heaven, are the nail scarred hands of Jesus (palms up), with a banner above the whole scene that says "a land where we'll never grow old" (in case you aren't familliar, that is a very old hymn, and it was sung by the choir at her funeral). 

the artist says it will have to be pretty big for him to be able to incorperate all the detail, and still have the tat look good.

opinions????  Ideas????

I like it Stephi. :)  It will have to be pretty big though.  Be prepared for it to take up the majority of your back.

That will take up your entire back! good girl! You know I advocate large scale tats! You'd better research the local artists first. I can't stress that enough! 9 out of 10 tats look like shit! You'll pay, but it's worth it.

I don't know girlie.  Seems like it might need to be *too* big.  What about a big road trip and getting Kat Von D to do a picture of her?  Or picking something that meant a lot to her...like her favorite flower or something that always makes you think of her.....for example, I'm thinking of a Lily or an African Violet with my Nana's initials, in her script (as close as they can get with the tracing they can do) when I'm down for it. 

I could perhaps see getting someone to draw the cemetary the way you want it, so that if you have to move away, you've always got it with you...but I'm not sure about inking it on yourself.

that sounds like it would be a gorgeous tattoo.  If you end up getting it, I would absolutely love to see a picture.
