On May 23, 2006, I wrote an E-mail that would change my life. I sent it to a very intelligent man who had snuck his email into his www.eharmony.com profile. Here is what I wrote:
I guess you and I are a match.
I got an email from eharmony saying you are a match for me. It would be nice to get to know you and maybe talk a little bit more. I guess I'm creative because it wasn't too difficult to figure out your email.
My name is Sarah. I have a daughter who is 13 months old. I work at a pest control company doing administrative work and, well, everything else too. It's a small company :) It would be nice to hear back from you if you are interested.
Sarah
His response:
Wow,
Hello Sarah. I did not expect to hear anything from anyone on the site! I would like to chat as well! I don't have much free time this week except for after 9p or so on Thursday. I'll be on yahoo IM with this same ID if you have it, if not I'll work something out. My name's Rodney (but I go by Rocky), I have a daughter that will be 2 yrs on July 2nd. I work for a semiconductor/electronics distributor out on the northwest side and live around greenspoint. I have a pic when I get home if you would like to see (not very flattering but it's all I have). I just graduated from North Harris with my A.S. I have alot of debt and baggage from a custody battle but it will all be wrapped up soon. Anyway, if I haven't scared you off yet feel free to hit me back with any questions you may have.
Regards,
These two simple emails started a relationship in motion that is still going strong today. The funny and wonderful thing about it? My first email went into his junk email box and he just so happened to check it before he deleted them all. I met my match. He and I are perfect for each other in EVERY way. No, we're not perfect people. No one is perfect, but he and I mesh well. Yes, we have arguments. We always resolve them though. That is one of the things I love about him. We always talk it out.
One year ago today, on October 7th, 2007, I married the love of my life. In honor of our anniversary, I would like to present to you ladies just some of the wonderful things I love about my husband:
•1) He always talks to me to get my opinion
•2) He's faithful and loving
•3) He tries so hard to help
•4) He supports my decisions no matter what they are or if he disagrees with me
•5) He wants me to get my college degree so I can better myself
•6) He tolerates me in the morning (even though I'm a bear)
•7) He loves the way I look even when I just wake up with dragon breath and knotted hair
•8) He thinks I'm sexy and tells me so everyday
•9) He loves my daughter as much as his own and treats them both the same.
There is so much more I can say about my wonderful husband that I won't continue to bore you. He is my rock, my lover, my friend, my husband. I wouldn't trade him for the world and I hope he knows it. I don't always tell him everyday how much I love him. I don't always tell him "Thank you" for helping out around the house. I think because I focus too much on what he does wrong instead of what he does right. For that, I'm sorry. I love my husband more than life itself and I Thank God everyday for the wonderful man he has given me.
Happy Anniversary My Love!
