I hate reading about what goes on with children in third world countries. I hate stories of starvation, child soldiers, and especially child sex slaves. Yes it happens, in every country of the world. It makes my blood boil. It makes me sweat just thinking about it. Then it makes me cry.

I HATE this.

I hate the evil that goes on in our world. I realized I had this kind of "reaction" to these kinds of stories because I cared. This is what mattered to me.

I believe a life of service is the best kind of life to lead. The definition of service is: an act of helpful activity; help; aid. As Mothers, our entire life is service. But the reality is, the world is bigger than the four walls that we call home. The world is full of things gone wrong. It is up to us to make them right again. It is up to us to care. It is up to us.

Each of us can make a difference. Each of us has this kind of "reaction" when we read or watch the news. Answer me this. What makes you want to scream, "This isn't right, someone needs to do something about this?" Why not me? Why not you?

One of my favorite quotes sums up this very thought, "Be the change you want to see in the world." Ghandi was wise.

So, what makes your blood boil? What kind of change do you want to see?

Think about it.

I fully agree...there are such awful travesties happening in all corners of the world.  Many of these things are barely hidden under the surface, yet it goes on.  In our own country, something like 1 in 4(not an exact number, but probably close) children are victims of molestation, and yet so many mothers(?) who know it is happening just turn their heads.  This is what makes my blood boil.  The fact that higher courts in our nation have decided that the death penalty is too harsh for child molestors, yet it is known that there is little in way of rehabilitation for these monsters, and the child who's innocence is forever stolen, there will never be any justice.  this makes my blood boil

Ignorance and self absorbed people! People who think that they are more important than others just because they have money, power, etc...I had a conversation with a friend a couple of weeks ago and had an epiphany....really..what things boil down to is if everyone (like you my Headmutha friend!) had compassion and chose on the basis of what is right (instead of just would benefit them) then the world would be a very different place....

What makes my blood boil is alot of things. Like how people are suffering here in the USA form illnesses that are incurable. That we are losing our loved ones to cancer, AIDS, heart attacks, etc, and there isn't anything we can do but stand by and watch it happen....I am boiled that my home is surrounded by sex offenders that have molested young children as young as 6 months old, but they are allowed back into society to blend in with us, and we cannot do a damn thing but expose them on a website, but it wont matter, cause they can still live there...  That people are homeless hungry, and cold, walking the streets with no where to go. What makes my blood boil even more is that there are people in this world capable of working and earning a living to support their kids, but instead become a drain on society and collect welfare. Another thing that makes my blood boil is that there are so many racist people bringing up there children to hate along with them. I could go on forever. But what can I do other than raise my children the best way possible and hope they grow up and make something of themselves, and pray to God they dont catch anything that will kill them? It scares me to know what this world has come to, scares me to death...

I couldn't have said it better myself. My blood boils for all the same reasons as yours. It's unfathomable! I also get very angry when people hear about these things and manage to turn a blind eye (deaf ear, whatever). How can they just pretend these things don't exist? As a mother, especially, how can someone not care about children every where? Sometimes I feel like my friends are rolling their eyes behind my back, saying, "You know Robyn and her causes!" ARRRRRGGGGG!!

The Department of Social Services (at least in CA). They are so tied up in legalities and paperwork that the kids immediate needs are often delayed for months or years IF they are ever tended to at all. I have seen so many kids slip through the cracks because their paperwork for medication, or psych evaluations, or even necessary surgeries are all tied up in court. My kids would have slipped through if I had not been on the SW on a daily basis for 10 months! It took 5 months to get the paperwork signed to have my daughter's umbelical hernia repaired. It caused her severe pain several times a week, and all I could do his hold her while she screamed, massaging her hernia back in where it belonged.

So many things about our World make my Blood boil. The fact that Millions of Americans sleep outside and are Homeless is at the top of my list. Mercury in vaccines, and people telling me that My Sons Autism was not caused by Vaccines. I have many lab tests and 3 great Dr's diagnosis that Mercury was the cause. People on Cafe MOM that are mean and hateful because they can cower behind their Computers. This is a great post Rocky!! I could go on forever but I wont. We cant forget that there are many beautiful things about our World like Mom's like you that care so much! You are able to give so much that it makes up for those who don't.jigsaw ribbon

I have to agree with everyone here... it makes me angry that there are people in this country who are starving, homeless, who have nothing because of a simple life mistake or due to loss of a job from downsizing, and there is no money available anywhere to help them because our "government" (and I use THAT term loosely) is sending it overseas. It makes me angry that my son cannot go outside and play with reckless abandon all day long with no worry of predators lurking. It also makes me angry that these same predators are released back into society to live amongst those children to whom they would do harm. Who not just open all the cages at the local zoos and hope for the best?? It would probably (and unfortunately) be safer! At least you can shoot a wild animal, and these people IMO are no better. I don't even watch the news much anymore because it's aggravating to see all the ignorance and violence. And the ridiculous attitudes that it's "someone else's problem" or that "someone else will take care of it". We all live in this world, it's OUR responsibility to do what we can to make it better.
