Not What I Expected, But Far Far Worse!

So Here's A little of what happened to update everyone! I was going back home after spending a week with my family in Utah. It was October 7th, 2008 at around 2:30 PM MST. I was about 140 miles or so from my parents home on my way back to Colorado Springs when I hit something in  the road. It sent me onto the Rumble strip on Interstate 70 just over the top of the pass. Both Drivers side and Rear passenger side tires ended up spinning me into a 180 degree turn. I hit a culvert Ditch bump with my rear end and it sent me airborn while doing another 180 degree turn. I landed 15 to 20 feet down the road from where I had gone airborn at. then my car rolled onto its drivers side, only stopping from a complete roll because the rear top passenger corner of the car hit the rock ledge and stopped the car.

I was dazed and scared as this was my first ever accident while driving. I had two bistandards, a father and son come help me from my jeep thru the front passenger door (If they ever get this news I hope they know that they are my Angels, and I'm sorry to the Father that his fingers got smashed when my door spontaneously closed on his fingers when his son helped me down) They were brave and courteous to me the whole time, as were two other men who stopped and helped me after I was out. By keeping me talking they kept me from going into shock. I am so grateful to them all and glad that they didn't give me problems when i called my Mom and Dad and cried to them. LOL, thanks for the help guys I will be forever grateful. To the officers (Highway Patrol and Emery County Police) who came to the scene I'm terribly disturbed of the behavior and treatment to me and my parents.

I ended up walking away from the accident with only minor scratches and bruises and tho I am feeling the pain now a day later I'm not complaining because I know I'm strong enough to get over this too.

My Jeep Liberty on the other hand which has basically been with me for nearly 18 months now was my best friend really and my first worry. I remember asking the father and son very first whether my Lady Liberty (Libby) was ok. They smiled and said as long as I was ok then there were no worries.

Sadly after being inspected and photographed and analyzed my 2004 Jeep Liberty has been deemed as totalled and irreparable. This saddens me but I know its for a reason.

As for the Insurance settlement they are paying off my Car loan for as much as the Blue Book Value of my Jeep and the additional 1400 dollars left over on the loan is my responsibility which I am not happy about but as I hate conflict I will just do what I have to and move on.

I am still in Utah, back with my parents until Monday when we will rent a car and drive, (the three of us, my father, mother and me) to Colorado Springs where my dad has some things to do and then he and my mom will leave me with my best friend at my apartment and they will return the Rental Car.

I want to speak a moment of My Best Friend Tres, who although he couldn't be there with me helped me and talked with me thru the moments and took my Bitchassness in stride today. I know when I get moody I give him more Crap then he deserves but I want to express my gratitude to him for being there for me when I've felt lost in a crowd or alone in things I couldn't get thru without help. Thanks Tres, I love you Always and Forever.

I am good, just healing from the bruises and scratches and pain that comes with a wreck. I will say Honestly I don't know how I made out without more injuries but I feel there is a power beyond my sight that helped me thru. Pain is a fact in life and we can choose to crumble under its pressure or we can climb mountains and make a difference from it.

 

P.S. The Stuff Splattered on the Drivers Side Window is from a broken glass Jar of Jam my mom was sending home with me. Along with this one, I had another Jar break behind the drivers seat, and in addition had several porcelain figureines and heirlooms I was moving to my own apartment from my parents home, break and end up in my lap, the contents of two 18 gallon containers (Glass Dishes, Porcelain Figurines, ECT.) ended up in my lap along with my laptop, CD case full of CD's and other random items ened up in my lap.
