We have had the V.Motion for a while now. It is probably time for me to start writing about it. Sorry it took me so long CafeMom!! I love you, thank you for the free stuff!
Everyone was super excited to have the game and wanted to play it first. Even my 9 year old was fighting over playing first. The one year old got in on the act. She saw the light on the power button and thought it was fun to push it on and off. So, we ended up moving it to ontop of the tv so she couldn't reach it.
After putting the cartridge in I was brought back to my Atari days. I would have expected the graphics to be MUCH better in the year 2009. Maybe my big screen didn't help, just accentuated the lack of plausibility that it was made for this century. The kids didn't care one bit about this though. They were just ready to start playing!
Anyways, we played the racing game first. It started out with a race car on a track that you went around trying to get stars and picking letters that completed the word. It was super easy for my 7 year old and the 2 year old got his letters by chance. He knows hoe to drive the cars, but doesn't know about completing words yet. Luckily they have made it very easy, they show you what the missing letter is by just making it grey. I think that this would be a wonderful game for him to play as he gets older and starts learning his letters. The second part of the race is the bobsled race. Instead of getting letters you have to pick which number comes next in the series. Oh and you are moving toward the bottom of the screen, opposite the direction you are moving in the racecar one. Racing in the car or on a sled is great for my youngest. I think he enjoys this one the most.
Next we played tennis. It is you against your "coach". All you really do with this one is press a button. It seems as if the computer is moving your person for you. You just need to be coordinated enough to press the button when the ball gets close enough. Jeremiah hasn't figured out about the pressing of the big, huge, orange button yet. He does better with the racing game. The second game to the tennis game is the practice session. Instead of having a second "person" that you are playing against, you hit the balls into a soccer like net.
Finally, there is the big bounce. This one is interesting. You are walking trying to keep your balance on a big ball through a maze. You tilting the controller forward will lean you forward and that's how you get the ball to go that direction, do the same thing for all the different directions. Oh, and you have to collect the healthy foods along the maze and avoid the unhealthy foods at the same time. The second part of this game you have a board in you hands on screen and how you move the controller is how the board moves. Then they throw you balls, red or blue, and you have to move the board either right or left to get the colored balls in to the right pile. This would be Malachi's favorite part. I think he enjoyed the challenge of trying to not fall off the ball while going through a maze and collecting items. I guess because it seemed to be the most challenging one.
Well, after two days of playing the batteries died. So, we haven't played it again until today when we replaced the batteries. Overall, I would say it is a great system, with only a few drawbacks. Very entertaining and educational at the same time, it also gets them on their feet instead of sitting on thier butts. The only drawbacks are the graphics and that it runs on batteries.
Here's some pictures:

Comments:
you know we are potty training. If the shirt was a little higher the picture wouldn't be appropriate for CM!
Awesome Andrea. They look like they're having a blast. I think I saw a V-motion for 50.00 at JCPenney outlet. Hmmm, I may have to check it out more closely.
