After following some new rules for myself these past few weeks, I have seen some positive results in my daughter's eating habits. Dietician Judy was very helpful during the first consultation and helped me think of some very good ideas to incorporate into my family's eating habits.
I had my final consultation yesterday and went over the progress Abby has made. First, and most importantly, I have stopped nagging and getting all worked up about her not eating as much as I think she needs. That alone has taken so much stress out of my life. Amazing what giving up a vice will do for your stress level. Another thing that we have started doing is cooking dinner together. Abby and I use that time with each other to talk and bond. I let her wash the potatoes and stir things in the bowl for me. She enjoys the one on one time with me plus she is proud of what she made to eat. This results in her actually eating more. I'm not as concerned about her lunches at school either since I have realized that it's pointless for me to worry. I went and had lunch with her at school and saw that she was eating a okay amount and I always pack her a good snack for at school and she gets one when she gets home. What more can i do? Nothing!! And that's fine. Ahhh. I feel so liberated!
Thank you Dietician Judy and CafeMom for this oppurtunty. I am grateful!
