Yes, it's true.

Sarah Palin would have my head.

I was reading today in a Chicago Sun Times editorial that William Ayers, former Weather Underground member that served on a committee dealing with poverty and education in the city of Chicago with Senator Obama (if you live in Chicago or the Chicago area you know what a dire issue this is and what horrible shape the Chicago Public School system is in and therefore how important these types of charitable committees are)  is currently a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

What's my connection....I just graduated with a degree in the Teaching of History from UIC. So I looked him up in the UIC phonebook to see what he taught. To my surprise, he teaches in the College of Education...Curriculum and Instruction to be exact. I've probably walked past him in the halls without even realizing it. At the very least, my education professors are all colleagues of his, and well, we can all play the 6 degrees of separation game....

Therefore, by McCain-Palin logic, I too am a terrorist.

I just wanted to let you all know in case any of you need to now delete me from your friends list.

The point.....it would be ridiculous to imply that I am a "terrorist" just because I have some things in common with Bill Ayers, and we have worked with the same people to achieve a common goal. It scares me that some people would be willing to draw that conclusion about Senator Obama just because he happened to work with the man on a project.

Hopefully the American people are smarter than McCain and Palin give them credit for.

ah geez.. If Palin and McCain had their way, if you made less than $1 mill a year or were not a die hard Christian willing to show children pictures of unborn fetuses, than we'd all be in big trouble.

Congrats on your degree, and i will NOT remove you from my friend's list.  If this was myspace, I'd make you my top 8. ;-)

Let me know when you kick off your teaching career in his livingroom,  and then there will be a correlation.

Thanks, Sophi, that's what I was thinking.  Not only when you kick off your teaching career in his living room but also when he gives you something like 500 million dollars to do what you want with.  They did happen to know each other from being on some committee together, they had many dealings and were more than just a little familiar with each other.

Once again the posters of truth are leaving a few things out.

Well, UIC is a pretty respectable institution if I do say so myself. So if they trust Bill Ayers to educate the people that will be educating our children, then I'm not too concerned about who was in whose living room.

Maybe I'd be cooler if I joined a movement trying to get IL to secede from the Union, lol.

But silly me, I'm just worried about the fact that we only make $30,000 a year combined and the Republicans don't care about what is better for my family at all. I would like to be able to actually afford to send my children to college one day and give them everything that I had. You must all be rich.

EmmaKubz, I'd like to be able to send my daughter to college, too, someday, and no, I'm not rich.  I want their to be value to a college education.  If the government hands out trips to college like they do public education now, there will be no point in going.  With what you said about Bill Ayers and UIC trusting him, then I'm guessing you have no clue what he was a part of and what he did.  I'm also guessing you have no clue about the fact when asked if had any remorse for what he did Ayers said no and his only regret was they didn't bomb more places.  I think you need a history lesson.
