Sometimes in life we stand all alone wondering what we are worth

and then we remember that plan we were given at the moment of our birth

We travel down that long hard road clinging to hopes and dreams

and along that road we test the waters things float and sink it seems

We get knocked off that road several times along the way

and at the worst times some of us get down on our knees and pray

Some people are stronger than others on their journey through their trials

and to some of us who are lonely souls the road seems like there are to many miles

Along the way there is happiness, sadness, laughs and sometimes tears

some of us hide our feelings well, the pain, the anger, the doubt and the fears

But what does one do when along the way they can't hold on to life much longer

and in their time of need people keep saying to them you just have to be stronger

The sadness takes over, the body in shock and the tears fall down like rain

their life becomes meaningless, their spirit is dark and they are in constant pain

They make a plan they know what to do, they open their mouth to shout

their words are lost, their body numb cause all they wanted was a way out

Well written!  Life is an interesting journey, but it sure beats the alternative!  There are many times when it seems the burden is too great, but these challenges of life teach us what strength is.   With each challenge we overcome, it gives us the strength to face the next.  Take things one step at a time.

Apr. 18, 2007 at 1:04 PM This is awesome. My daddy committed suicide a few years ago, when I was 22 and pregnant with my first child. It was such a hard time for me, but he was in this same place you are talking about. Just didn't see any other way out and could not find happiness after all of troubles.
