As I am in the shower a little bit ago, our 10 yo knocks on the door.  "Mom, Zach is out of toilet paper and he NEEDS it!"  My response is, "He'll just have to sit there until I am done."  The bathroom I am in is the only place I put toilet paper.  I try to remember to keep at least one roll in the other bathroom, but I haven't checked it lately.  I will admit that I was laughing at him being stuck until someone came to his rescue.  Can't you just see this kid sitting there with his head in his hand thinking, "Dang it, I should have checked for toilet paper."

Then, I started thinking about how I would make sure to tell him to always check for toilet paper.  Even telling him to always make sure he is covered in everyday life.  So, I naturally started thinking of my own life.  Where have I not checked for TP?

We now have all the life insurance coverage we can afford on both of us.  We have health insurance with hubby's work.  Our car is covered.  We are making changes in light of the current economic mess.  I have cut our food budget to $80 a week.  We have done all we can today to prepare for tomorrow.

As I research Obama and McCain, it has never occurred to me to check for toilet paper.  I count myself as one of the undecided voters.  I always have a hard time making the decision as I don't affiliate with one party or another.  I want to vote for the person I think will be the best in the job.  Listening to the opinions of other people is fine.  We need to make the decision for ourselves based on what our needs/wants are.

If we vote for someone just because the rest of our family is or vote without really knowing what the candidate stands for, we will end up knocking on the door for someone to help.  We need to make sure that our family will be covered.  Obviously, not everything will be beneficial to all of us.  But, we need to make sure something will be.

I don't want to be the person sitting on the toilet with my head in my hands saying, "Dang it, I should have checked for toilet paper."
