My son is 2 and has autism and sensory processing disorder and we are not doing trick or treating this year either.  We are making Halloween snacks, crafts, and watching Dora and Sesame Street Halloween videos and having our own party at home.  Would your 6 year old maybe settle for not going out if you did something like this for both of them?  He could still dress up and answer the door to the trick-or-treaters in his costume so people would still get to see him.

Just to clarify by party I meant him and my husband and I, he definitely doesn't do parties either, LOL.

Put your 3 yr old dd in the stroller and off you go. She might not physically capable to trick or treat, but she still can enjoy the atmosphere.

I have epilepsy and take my kids trick or treating. If we see strobes we don't go to that house or I turn the other way while DH takes the kids. If they are really bad we skip that street. But usually they don't bother me because we are not in an enclosed space. I hope you work something fun out for both of them.

it would be wonderful if the 6 yr old can go trick-or-treating and maybe you can find a "trusting"friend to sit with the three yr.old and if not than maybe you can still take the both of them because I have a friend that takes her dd and she suffers from the same thing, does that help???????????????
