Non-partisan fact checking website politifact.com has stated:
This attack is false, but it's more than that – it's malicious. It unfairly tars not just Obama, but all the other prominent, well-respected Chicagoans who also volunteered their time to the foundation. They came from all walks of life and all political backgrounds, and there's ample evidence their mission was nothing more than improving ailing public schools in Chicago. Yet in the heat of a political campaign they have been accused of financing radicalism. That's Pants on Fire wrong.
Yes, I knew this. Ayers was also voted Chicago person of the year. I guess all the people who voted for him are palling around with terrorist too. And he is a well respected professor. I guess all his students are friends with a terrorist too and their parents allow it.
Give me a break.
McCain is behind in the polls and will try any tactic in his desperation to win the presidency. It is sad to see a formerly honorable man lower himself to this.
It's his campaign strategists, not the man himself. That's the sad part, if he were a real maverick he'd be going a different direction with his campaign tactics. But instead it's the same 'ol swiftboat & throw the kitchen the sink & use fear & doubt to get the ignorant to the polls.
But I agree yarnjunkie. It's sad.
Wm Ayers is a convicted terrorist. You all were not born during the Viet Nam era. I was. My husband served in Viet Nam and anyone who lived through it knows Wm Ayers and his wife. They bombed the white house, the pentagon, and a new york police station. Ayers said he wished he had done more. Obama worked for Ayers - go to a reputable news agency and check it out. Obama helped Ayers with his education program for children on how to be radical and as a community organizer. Ayers held one of Obama's first fund raisers and is a neighbor. Check it out!
