You may recall a post a couple weeks ago (I'm Sorry I've Been Absent) where I mentioned a stomach virus I had that was keeping me down. Well, it took 3 weeks, but I finally found out what the real problem was. It wasn't a virus, it was an unhappy gall bladder. I went to my doctor on Monday because I was completely miserable again, and she sent me in for a gall bladder ultrasound. The result of that was that two different doctors said I needed to get rid of that obnoxious thing. I went home with pain meds on Monday, and then went in Tuesday to visit with the surgeon, and have my gall bladder removed.

Apparently I'm even a troublemaker when I'm under general anesthesia. My gall bladder presented some problems, but the doctor was able to remove it the "easy" way (laparoscopy). He said that it would take a little longer to heal because of how difficult it was, though. Oh well...if it means no more of that awful pain, that's fine with me!

So now I get to take it easy for a few days while I recover. Maybe I'll see what's on tv...

I can't believe that THIS is how you got a break. NOT FAIR! Pain and sickness and surgery are NOT the way to get a break! I am SO glad that they figured out what was wrong with you and SO glad that you will be over this soon. Even if "soon" is a couple more weeks. Glad they could take it laparoscopically. Much nicer for your healing and such. =0) A package (small, cause I am car-less) is on its way to you with a few things to make you smile. You are loved!

Awww!  Glad to hear that's all over... get well soon! : )  *hugs*

I know it's not a funny subject, but it reminded me of something funny.  When I was 8 my mom had her gall bladder removed as well... I took the stones for show and tell!!  : )  Doc put them in a prescription bottle (after he cleaned them of course) for me! : )
