Esther and Scott 

Esther and Scott make about $900 per month with their business, which has come at the perfect time for their family.

“We’re expecting our first child soon, and the extra income is helping us as we purchase all the things you need for the baby,” Esther says. “Even in today’s economy, we’ve also been able to do a lot of extra work on our 100-year-old home. We’ve always wanted to do these projects, but didn’t want to put it on the credit card. And in addition to all this, we’ve used the income to start paying off debt and help me transition from full-time employment to part-time.”

 

Margaret and Marc 

“This business has totally changed our lives. Without it we wouldn’t have worked so hard to get out of debt,” she says. “We weren’t spending frivolously; we just didn’t have any extra––no wiggle room for emergencies, repairs, and birthdays. And with the way things are right now, that’s a scary place to be.”  

Their monthly checks are on average $1,300. Things like retirement, helping others, working from home, and financial stability are more realistic.

“We have been able to start college funds for our three boys, and pay off credit card debt and our vehicle one year early. We have an emergency fund in the bank and contribute more to Marc’s 410K. Last year our well caved in before we had an emergency fund and we had to use the credit card. If something like that happens again, we can pay for it with cash.”

 

Martha 

Martha Hillin was tired of being a weekend parent and wanted to stay home with her kids. Now, with her part-time income, she makes an average of $1,500 per month. Her biggest check so far this year was $2,953 for the month. “We have paid off one credit card and another loan completely,” she says. “Even with the markets and economy how they are, we’re able to afford the little things. It has allowed us to put our kids in gymnastics, T-ball, go to Disneyworld and more. We can buy dinner for people when they come into town. And my husband has worn glasses his entire life and our business will pay for the surgery so he won’t have to!”

 

Melissa

Melissa makes just more than $1,500 each month – and growing – with her business. “With this income I’ve been able to stay at home with my two children,” she says. “I don’t have to go to work outside the home and pay high gas prices and daycare expenses. We have the extra income we need and now watching the checks grow provides more security knowing we have residual income coming in.”

Her business provides more than financial security; it provides her the opportunity to enjoy time freedom and flexibility. “If I was to go back to Corporate America and juggle schedules it would be difficult,” she says. “I can take a day off and spend a day at the park with my kids. I can be here when they need me and I have the freedom to be my own boss and choose when I’ll work. This business is tremendous and solid!”
