I used to volunteer at the local animal shelter when I was a teenager and I also did teen court (you try your peers for crimes they commit just like the "real" system). Not that this is volunteering per se but we also adopted families that needed help at Christmas time when I was growing up and I've continued with the tradition now that I have my own home and family. I try to do the shoe boxes for xmas and bring food by the food banks when I can. Any of the canned drives the USPS or boy scouts do also get a few things.
