SO yesterday I forgot to give my son his medicine so I had to take it up to the school. When I got there walking across the parking lot a school bus came around the corner VERY fast. I stopped in my tracks then moved. If it was a child she would have ran them over. She was going FAST. As soon as I got in the door I asked for the bus shop number. When I called them yesterday they said they will address it with her. I said I will be writing the school board also about it cause I just don't want her talked to. I say fire her ass. Harsh some might think but seriously if it would have been a short child they might be dead right now.  The bus shop said they would write it down in her paper work I guess that they go over once a year and watch the video. To me once they see the video they should watch a lot more of her tapes to see what else goes on. The lady I talked to on the phone had a attitude about me talking to the school board but maybe that will push them to do more than just damn talk to these bus drivers.

Don't get me wrong there are A LOT of great bus drivers out there but then again there are A LOT of bad one. Speeding is something they should NOT do at all. They don't have just their kids on the bus they are responsible for a lot of kids. I do know they put up with a lot of shit etc. I was the bad teen on the bus but something has to be done with the way they drive!

I will let you know what happens. At least if they tell me anything. I know she got my name and number. I asked if she was writing it down when she asked for it then I spelled it out for her so she got it right. I was thinking please contact me back something needs to be done!

You need to go to the board for your county's website look and see if they have something called a "SAfe School Helpline" those are powered by Homeland security. They don't make those lines too public cause the stats from it go to the government and they don't want the school system to look bad. If you can't find something like that on the county web page go to the state web page. All states have a number. Call that number. People jump when the call comes through that line.

That's crazy. They're not going to fire someone over it, I bet they'll just ignore it.  They really need to investigate, though.

You know, this is so true. There are some good bus drivers-but then again you never know...Just yesterday, i was driving through town, and a bus carrying some high school kids ran a red light! Then, it whipped out in front of oncoming traffic, and almost rear ended the car in front of it! My kids BOTH ride the bus, so I called in about this. I know everyone has a "bad day" and makes mistakes, but come on-when you have someone elses lives in your hands, you cant afford to be careless. I say fire them both! Or at the very least, scare the hell out of them and monitor their driving.

What's her name and where does she live??LOL...You have to keep calling and make an issue out of it.  Also find out if other parents have seen something like this, then have them report it.. Thank  goodness, you're ok!

Several years ago, my cousin was killed by a school bus.  Long story short, she was walking in front of the bus and the driver couldn't see her.  She didn't look for her to make sure she made it safely across the street.  The kids on the bus knew she hit her and tried to get the driver to stop.  It took 100 feet of my cousin under the tires before the driver would stop.  This is the direct reason the swing arms are on school buses now in that state.

You do EVERYTHING you feel you need to do to deal with this.  I try to stay out of drama on the road as much as possible.  School buses are fair game, though.  They have the lives of many children in their hands.  They HAVE to be safe at all times.  Period.
