My uncle has Leukemia along with his Wegener's Syndome.
We are in dire need of prayers.
He is my mom's baby brother. She just lost her baby sister this past April... I don't know how much more our family can take.
Uncle Larry's doctors have given him their prognosis: 3 - 6 months.
My uncle has known this for more than a month already & has just recently told the family.
Please pray for him.
He's a strong man, a good husband, father & grandfather. He's the best uncle I could ever have hoped for & I feel so thankful to have him in my life.
He was overseas (Viet Nam) for 2 years in the late 60s.
He just turned 62.
I'm at a loss for words which is not something that usually happens with me. Due to this I will repost what I wrote on my forum last week when were were told his prognosis. Keep in mind that he had just gomne to the ER by ambulance due to heavy nasal bleeding & had to be transfused before he was even admitted.
This was my post:
Ok...
Baby steps. That's what we need for this.
One thing at a time.
I prayed that Uncle Larry survived, that he did not die right then so that he'd be given the chance to fight.
He didn't die last night. But he was given a prognosis. The doctors say he has 3 to 6 months.
At least he has been given a chance. In 6 month his chemo will be complete & it could work. It has to work. He has to live.
My prayer was answered. He has the chance to fight & he's going to take it.
He plans to fight this thing but he says if he loses the battle he will accept defeat... BUT.... He has his chance to fight.
Not everyone gets that.
Please keep him in your prayers.
Not only my Uncle Larry, but my mom, my aunt, my two cousins & my uncle's 2 grandchildren.
Next baby step:
Pray for strength.
He doesn't have any right now. This is why my aunt had to call an ambulance. The bleeding started & Uncle Larry couldn't get out of bed. He had no physical strength to pull himself up. My aunt had back surgery a few years ago & also has arthritis.... there's no way she could carry him. He's big, she's small. She needed help.
Mama said he had more transfusions last night yet he still feels weak.... this is why we need to pray for strength. If he can get up & move around he can fight more effectively.
He needs the strength to make it to his next round of chemo which should be either the first or second week of November.
Once we get him to that goal, we'll set another.
He's fighting.... I'm going to fight with him but I need YOUR help.
All he needs right this moment is strength. Help me pray for that.
Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this & pray for a very good man.
My family would appreciate it greatly if you'd pass this along in your own bulletins so that we can get as many prayers as possible.
We'd like to see him go into remission & live another 20 years but we will take anything we can get as long HE is comfortable & has no pain.

UPDATE:
My uncle is still hanging in there.
He had a very nice Thanksgiving & is looking forward to spending Christmas with his grandchildren... assuming that his numbers go up.
His last chemo session was the first week of December. They have yet to schedule the next one but we assume that it will be right after the New Year.
Thank you for your prayers... even though you didn't post them here, God heard them & is keeping my uncle happy, if not totally healthy, this holiday season.
