Being a single parent is prolly the most difficult thing I've ever done....
I love my son with all my heart and soul and would never trade him for anything. But you want so much for him that you can't accomplish. It's so depressing sometimes. The other parent ( HA if I could call him that) is never around and I'm lucky if he pays child support. I have no other to turn to...and Dating...LOL thats a joke! I've tried to date but nothing turns out. I've been a single parent since my son was 6 months old. I'm just struggling to make things work. Can anyone offer good advice to pull me through this dark time?? I'm sick of being alone!!
I also have been there and actually my current husband didn't come into my life until my son was 6 yrs. old. (Though I was not looking for someone at all during those years). It was a long time being a single mom by myself and difficult, but trust me the greatest reward of your life is raising and seeing that little one grow into a person you want them to be. You just have to create and enjoy the special moments with your baby and make do with what you have. I know I did. You can't always give them want you really want to sometimes but if you can put a roof over their head and create memories that will be the best gift you can give him and it will be something he remembers and cherishes later in life.
Maybe you can look into your local park district for playgroups to meet other moms too, I just did and it's wonderful!
