Tell them to go outside and play....![]()
No really, my son all he asks is can I go outside to play... He goes out and plays with Tony and Jordan and rides his bike. I say go ahead. My son also has play dates... I use the Toys that he got from Playskool and Cafemom... the kid have a blast.
My girls just pull put their Barbies or they go on the patio and relax, play Teeter Ball, Batmittin or hand ball. I play with them outside these games and hide and seek... I love it.
I sign them up for the activities at the Library also
We also have Scrabble, Twister, Mad Gab and many other games...
I take them to the Explorium, Museum, park, beach(off days)...many places..if it is a rainy day I have a book on rainy day activities...we work out of them.... or we just have a race in doing a word search or a coloring contest....
what fun....
I love to play with Barbies also.... Ha!
Comments:
I think you are right, but that comes at a certian age. When they are small I think it should be incouraged, tought... being self sufficiant is a learned behaivor and once established they will do it on their own... I believe that the indoor cames should be kept at a minimal and outdoor play should be inforce to the max...and creative play also... I do not have a problem playing with my kids.... I love it, All the kids in our community plays along and wishes their mom did so too....
But I do not care how great an imagination is... we all ted to get a lil board at times...

I think more moms need to trust their kids to learn to play on their own (or choose to be bored)
I'm glad to hear your kids are self fufficiant and you encourage them to get out and play.
