So, it's not New Year quite yet, but I am in need of some serious change!  So, here are a few things that I want to do for me.  I'd like to get started right away...

1. Workout 5 times a week - whether I'm doing a video, yoga, or going out for a walk, I'm commiting to a workout 5 times a week

2. Drink less diet soda (limit 1 a day) and drink more water (8 cups a day) - somehow, I've let this one get way out of hand recently!

3. Get more sleep (at least 1 extra hour per day) - So, even though Jake's waking up thru-out the night, I can still go to bed earlier.  I'd like to make it a point to go to sleep by 11 every night.

4. Eat healthier snacks - I'm going to make it a point to cut up veggies and fruits to make them more accessible to me when I'm snacking.  Junk is too easy to eat on the go!

OK, that's a start!  :)  Don't want to get too many things at once.  dumbbell

You can do it! I made a list last December and refused to call my goals New Year's resolutions...it was a "2008 To Do..." list :) I had 8 or 9 things on it...some big, some not so big. So far I've accomplished most of them and I'm working on getting a couple of the small things finished up. My biggest challenge has been my fitness/weight loss goal. I'm FINALLY getting around to getting serious about that lol. I've lost just shy of 7lbs in the last three weeks...24lbs to go. Slowly but surely!  I posted my list on my Myspace blog so that all my friends and family could view it...it made me feel a lot more accountable so I'm really pushing myself to get everything accomplished!

That's great!  I agree that what we call it makes a huge difference...that's why this is "My Commitment to Me"!  I also didn't want to put a number on the weight loss, I just want to have healthier habits each day and be more sensible about things.  I actually was eating so healthy when I had gestational diabetes.  The key was that I wrote down all my food everyday.  Maybe I should try that now!  So what have you been doing to lose that 7 pounds?

I got a brita pitcher and keep it in the fridge and have a special glass just for my water and use a straw....makes it more special...I know that you can do it!  Marty

Hi!  Them are some great steps to get going!  They are exactly what I need to start doing too down to cutting down on the soda.  I understand what you are talking about on the sleep too.  It's a vicious cycle.  Good Job figuring what you need to do.  You're one step ahead of me, but you're getting me going too.  Keep it up!
