A tragedy struck very dear friend of mine yesterday.....father of a 12 year old little girl working out of the country in South Africa. His little girl was seriously injured in a fire in their hotel and badly burned yesterday....they lost everything...passports, important papers, money, credit cards they used for food to pay bills, their clothes, everything they had with them from the United States so they don't have money for hotel , food, or to pay the medical bills until Dad can get the banks to reissue the cards. Dad is working on trying to get the credit cards replaced along with the debit bank cards but the bank told him because they are in the United States it will take a month to replace and get to SOuth Africa. He doesn’t have insurance always self pays for medical so when they rushed his daughter to the hospital the doctor there refused to treat her because he had no money to pay...she has severe burns and needs to have them surgically treated and it will cost about 3000.00 to start.
He had to take her out of the hospital. She is staying in a village with the dad with
people that he is working for and the people are using balms on the burns and simple
village remedies.
I am so sad because they are so far away and I need to try to raise the money to get her the medical treatment she needs. It is sad that other countries are so different that the United States. A child should never be made to suffer.
