So my DH is all about listening to your body and well he isn't much for running distance anyway which is actually great because he is happy to watch DD when I head out for long runs.  Ok off track already.  So I am training for my first marathon in 10yrs, my first two were when I was in my 20's, now I am in my mid to late 30's and had a baby this year.  So I am following a training plan but I noticed this week my hip is starting to ache my feet ache, etc, so I think I need to follow husbands advice and cross train a couple of days.  I think is a critical point, I can push through and get injured or be smart not get an injury but perhaps be a few minutes slower, hummmmm, when you write it out seems sort of obvious.  I will hit the elliptical tonight and see if the aches begin to go away.

Sounds like xtraining would do you good.  I'm in same boat, hip bothering me but I keep running anyway because I like running more than anything else.  If I were a wise woman . . .

I agree.  I think xtraining would be wise.  Give you body a break from the pounding, and re-fresh your legs.

The leg I stretched still bothers me on my 6.7 runs. I find It gets better the very next day. I think cross training is the best thing to do. Good luck.
