I'm going to have a great weekend.

I have several friends that I've known for as long as I can remember (we're talking, kindergarten and earlier).  I know how rare it is to even have ONE, so I count myself really lucky.

Anyway, one of said friends has invited me to go out to Screams with her this weekend.  Basically, they take this place that serves as a Renaissance fair for most of the year, and transform it into this HUGE haunted theme park.  And it IS scary!  So we're going to go, scream our heads off, and act silly, and spend the night there (at the park!) in one of the apts over the shops.  TOO cool!

Then, the next day, we're going to Six Flags in Dallas.  Since they tore down Astroworld in Houston, I haven't been getting much of a SIx Flags fix, so this is going to be FUN!  Uh...provided I can convince my husband to spend the whole weekend without me.  :-(

Oh yeah, and we're doing this all for free, since her dad's a HUGE name in the area entertainment industry.  WOOOO!  I'm stoked.

Oh, man, that sounds so cool!!  I'm jealous.  It makes my shiny objects seem so insignificant.  On the other hand, after the Icee run just now, my feet are numb to my knees; I don't think I can walk anywhere for a week. 

Of course, the very idea of a place that's an almost year-round Renaissance Fair intensifies my jealousy and makes me want to start packing my stuff to move.
