GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!!

I am blogging this morning about voting......we are less than two weeks out from election day......I know that alot of you have decided and I know that there are alot of you still undecided......if you are NOT informed as a voter then please stay home....an uninformed voter is a dangerous one......I try not to be bias......but I am a democrat.....well....and independent really.....truth be told......and yes i am very liberal......but I have a unique insight on this election......unlike most of you....i am only 47 and already draw my social security and my medicare......with democrats ruling the house and senate those of us on social security are getting our first raise in 10 years......5%...not much.....about $32 for me for a year...but I am happy for every little bit.......the rep party has never ever looked out for people like me......the one's at the bottom of the pile.....the ones who need the help the most......can you imagine raising two kids on $646 a month........I worked all my life paying into SS......and this was all they had to offer......we truly need someone in the white house who will NOT cut programs for those of us who depend on these progrmas to survive......we need and deserve health care for everyone in this country........as for taxes...this country was FOUNDED on the idea of fair tax...that is the more you spend the more tax you pay and the less you spend the less tax you pay.....how much more fair could that be.......I know we could never go back to a fair tax situation but Obama will get us as close as possible.....what we do not need is for the rich to keep getting richer and the poor poorer.....poverty should not exsist in the greatest country in the world.......no child should go to bed hungry......or not be able to go to the dr when they are sick.....they should have better than rags to wear to school....we need someone in the white house who is going to look out for those of us who struggle every day.....as for those who think Obama is a socialist.....what do you think all these bank bailouts are......socialism at its finest........we do not need 4 more years of Bush politics.....I amnot voting for my future as much as I am for the future of my children.....my two kids are voting for the first time this year.....they have watched all the debates.....they are informed...and have made up their own minds as to who they think is best for their future and the future of this planet.....and please keep one more thing in mind......the next president will most likely appoint at least two supreme court justices......do you really want the majority to be conservative......you women out there listen up......roe V wade would face this court again if that happens......we as women cannot afford to take that risk.....persoanlly...no....I do not agree with abortion......however I DO believe a woman has a certain right to her own body....Mccain/Palin do not believe in abortion even in cases of rape and incest.......that should scare everyone.......we need a president who will move along with stem cell research.......that is also very important.......it could move medicine along at lightening speed.......so as you go out to vote...please keep all these things in mind........and no matter who you vote for....make sure your voice is heard.......make sure you vote.......and I hope that you see through all the Mccain/Palin bullshit.......it is just politics as usual.......and we need a change........and we have that choice for the first time in a long time.......stepping down from my soapbox now......GO VOTE!!!!! peace and love Melody
