Most of us have seen the ads "Save lids to save lives" , meaning save your Yoplait yogurt lids to help find a cure for cancer.

But has anyone ever seen the movie "I Am Legend" starring Will Smith?  In this movie, they thought they found the cure for cancer, but it ended up backfiring horribly and turning people into zombies, for lack of better words.

I have a few lids from our old Yoplait yogurts, but my question is, what exactly is this 10 cents per lid going towards?  Research?  Experiments?  ???

I would rather know what it is I'm contributing to before I get involved in this.

Am I weird or does anyone understand my hesitation??

Please don't take this wrong way but I think your weird... lol... I have been learning alot about Cancer lately. I have a friend that was diagnosed. I had a cancer scare and we are still testing and I am going to be walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day 60 miles over 3 days. I want them to do what then can to find a cure. I don't want my daughters to be affectedby this I don't want to loose a loved one. It's scary and awful and 10 cents adds up. They need to do both research and experiments and I'm pretty sure we aren't going to turn into zombies.

LOL That's ok I don't care if you think I'm weird!  Maybe I am, but that's alright, because it's part of who I am :)

I have had a cancer scare myself and had a recent one (Feb.) but have not had medical insurance since, so I'm just praying until I can get to the dr. for more tests.

I wouldn't mind donating my lids if I knew it was for finding a cause and how to prevent cancer.  But I'm very skeptical when it comes to putting foreign things into our bodies.

LOL. I have thought about that before. You aren't the only weird one.

I thought the lids were a good idea until I realized it was the susan g komen foundation. Have you looked around your grocery store lately and seen all the susan g komen products now? since it's breast cancer awareness month everyone from the coffee I like, to oreos (I think..) cereals, breads and such are geting in on it. But I refuse to give to susan g komen since some of that money goes to Planned Parenthood which supports abortions. I am incredibly pro life and that it just not kay with me.

And whoever wants to comment with the "planned parenthood does more than abortions, you should still support them" arguement, don't bother. All the "good" that Planned parenthood does will never outweigh the fact that they use some of that money to kill babies. Ever. You can't atone for that.

I agree.  I am against abortion and would not want to contribute anything towards it.  I didn't know that about the Susan G Komen Foundation (although Yoplait is the only thing I can think of that advertised Breast Cancer Awareness that I've bought).  Where did you find that out?
