Shutterbugmama's Journal

I've tried to be quiet; It's impossible.

I do know her.  I know her in several people in my life, starting with Angela.

In regards to my post: Do You Know Her

http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/1274053/Do_you_know_her

1. ANGELA

It's funny that my best friend is named Angela...like Angel.  And she is, I swear to you, an angel.  She lives in Illinois, and I in Los Angeles, which can be a serious distance if you're looking at a less than favorable map.

: )

I'd walk there for her, the same way I know she'd walk here for me.

She was the first woman IN THE WORLD I ever knew BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that I could trust with my life, with my children, with my secrets, my soul and my spirit; she'll never do anything other than lift me up, even when I insist that she leave me be in a pile on the floor.  She relishes in my joy with me as if it were her own, and I weigh her opinion heavily with my own.

She taught me HOW to open my heart; she taught me trust, and leads me lovingly by example.  No matter the question, LOVE IS HER ANSWER.

She's been there; and she's done that.  You might think that by her sweet and kind presence that she's lived a sheltered life, but break into her house, and she'll shoot you dead, pour herself a glass of wine, and then call me.

She'll be rattled...but she'll be JUST FINE.

BUT, before she tells me that she's just shot a person, she'll make sure I AM OK.

I can hear her now, "Hey, are you busy??  How are you?  I miss you!"....

Short conversation, then she'll say, "Well, nothing exciting here other than the dead person on my floor...Love is the Answer Elle, and it starts with YOU and YOURS".

Then she'll go into the sale that Khols is having while she waits for her husband to return her call form the office so HE can handle the clean up of the intruder...

I love her.

I love her so much.

2. MY MOM.

While my mom would certainly take the other shovel, she'd have a disapproving look upon her face, and she'd WANT TO ASK "what did you do, now"?  But she wouldn't.  She'd love me anyway, light up a cigarette, and say, "We should really take a road trip".

I'd be comforted by her disapproving look; it would mean I have a Mother.

3. Tracy...

She's the one bought me the shovel in the first place.

She even painted it pink, cause she knows it's my favorite color, and that I wouldn't want to bury a body with a brown shovel, because that would make everything that much more difficult for my psyche...

She understands this.  She gets me...

And somehow, LOVES ME REGARDLESS.  Somehow.

She send her last $10 to me if I needed it.

And she knows Id do the same.

4. Robin

There is NOTHING that this woman CANNOT DO.

Nothing.

She has served this country in the military; she'll WHOOP YOUR A$$...then bend down, and remind you kindly, that Love is the Answer.

Does this spell balance?  No...

She sways with the times, bends with the road, and rages and rest with the Atlantic tide.....

Might look off balance, but truly, she's brilliant.  If she stayed rigid, she knows she be limited; Robin cannot be limited; she's got too damned much to do.

And all the while, she's loving us all; even as she's dropping some of us to the ground; its only cause we deserve it!

5...Oh, Mandi...

She came and she gave, without takin'....

and I'LL NEVER LET HER GO.

Ever.

She's my Sister; I cant get rid of her if I wanted to...

but trust me, I NEVER WANT TO.

You wouldn't either if you knew her.

That's only 5...it's nearly 8 o'clock at night, and I need to go, but there are more...

I feel so blessed.

My boys are calling me...sweet dreams, Sisters.

xo

(But there are more....I hate having to go.  Where did these KIDS come from???)

I wanna hear about YOUR "her".  Tomorrow, I'll write about more about this.  In fact, what a cool book idea.....woman after woman describing "Her".

Hmmm.....

YES, you DO have a mother - (hey, that's ME!)  You bet your sweet bippie you've got a mom!!!!!  I will ALWAYS accept you for exactly who you are - but understand this - you are the BEST most loving daughter any mother could dream of!  I am so grateful for YOU!  You  make it way easy to accept.

Yeah, the shovel.  Of course, I'd help you.  I don't think the look would be "disapproving", but rather "concerned".  I'd have to protect you and hide you from the law, and that would mean we would both get caught and go to prison.  We don't want that to happen, so  I guess I just need to guide you in the right direction - AND TAKE AWAY ALL YOUR SHOVELS (even the pink one) - so sorry.

I love you

Love this Elle..........as I love YOU!

This would be a FANTASTIC book idea! There are books out there for Sisters but they always seem to be bio-sister books.  You know, just like most of the greeting cards......"When we were little you would etc., etc.," well hell, I have sisters that didn't know me at ALL when we were little and some of them are so far removed from me in age - but still my sisters - that without time machines there is no way we'd be "little" together.

Hmmmmm

I haven't known you for long, Elle, but I'd do anything for you and all the other sisters. That's what this life is all about. It doesn't matter whether or not you're related by blood, the way I figure it, everyone's blood is red, everyone has blood coursing through their body so that kinda makes us all the same. We're all here without a handbook to guide us in everyday life, so we need to be there for each other no matter what. Loveya, Barbara

my "her" is a beautiful and feisty greek girl that came to the states when she was 7 years old. We met in 7th grade and have been best friends ever since. She married, then a little while later I married. She had a son and a year later I had twin sons. Several years later she had a daughter then about a year later I had a daughter. When I called to tell her that I was pregnant with my Jessi she said, "what, r u crazy?!?" you already have 3 kids".  Then she preceded to have a little girl (who she named Angela for me) and then a little boy. So who I ask you is crazy? We both are but then we wouldn't be friends  if we weren't crazy. We have been through everything together. She lives in San Antonio and I'm stuck in Kansas to far away but I make it down there when I can and she spoils me rotten. This September made us best friends for 29 years. She says that makes us wonderfully wise and fun women but never old. I love her dearly and would be lost without her.... So this is my "her".
