My son will be 2 in November. He still uses a pacifier to sleep with and when he is at home sometimes. The daycare he attends does not allow binkies on kids over 1, so he does not use it there, and according to the Director, he has no problems with it. BUT when he is at home, he thinks he has to have it, and we cannot do bedtime with out it. I need ideas on ways to wean him off his binkie!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Comments:
My daycare did the same thing. No binkies in class so he would give it to the teacher. When he got hom and bed time he would ask for it I'd tell him sorry mommy left it in your cubby at school. Then the next time same thing. The third time he told me you forgot my pinky yes? and he stopped asking... I know it didn't help but mine just seemed to wean there selves after being told that they couldn't have it a little fussing but the fell asleep still

My daughter was born just before Christmas, and we had a hard time getting her to give hers up also! So, just before she was 3, we told her that she was getting too big to have her paci and that if she left it outside her bedroom door, Santa would bring her an extra present and deliver her paci to a child who didn't have one (she couldn't handle that it would be thrown away!)
Good luck!
