i have just been informed that my husbands tour in Iraq has been extended for 3 more months. He has been there since Oct. 06. I'm so sick and tired of the military right now. Even though it is good money and we are keeping our head above water.. It still agrivates me. I just want to SCREAM. My husband has missed so much already. He has missed our son's first and second birthdays.. And he is going to miss our daughters first birthday in Sept. He missed the first steps and first word first everything so far.. IT SUCKS.. I HATE IT.

Apr. 13, 2007 at 2:11 PM I know how you must feel.  It's tough.  But however tough it is for you, I'm sure he's feeling it too.  When I get to feeling this way, I just try to remember how tough it must be for him, and try to be postive.  It's not easy and sometimes I know you just can't for the life of you find the strenght, however, when he does come home you'll be his rock, and it will be that much sweeter.  Good luck for you and him.

Apr. 14, 2007 at 9:14 PM I have a friend who is going throught the same thing except instead of 3 months extended she is havine 6 with her hubby making it a total of a year and a half gone.

I can completely feel your pain.  I am so sorry that you (and your husband) are going through this.  My husband and I both completed fours years active duty in the Navy.  The military is extremely rough.  We made it though and now have moved to North Plains, Oregon.  I hope for a safe return for your husband.  Take care.
