Just got back from picking up my nephew from school.  It's cool out today.  Even has a breeze out.  And on this day I am so THANKFUL  that the weather wasn't the normal 80'/90's.... Read on.....

We pulled in the driveway.  I opened the sliding door on my side of the van.  The 3 boys jumped out. Keona (20mo.)  was asleep in her carseat, behind hubby.  I walk in with the 3 boys.  It's probably a minute or 2 after 11.  I go clean the stove, make something to eat, I even sat at the table while the boys went outside to play.  I get up and go down to the room.  I look in ours, and it's empty.  I look in the kids room, and hubby is in there on the laptop. Beds are empty.  So I ask him, "where did you lay Keona?"  he asked, "lay her where?"  "What bed did you lay her in?" I questioned.  "I didn't lay her in any bed."  WTF? He jumps up and rushes to the van, me right behind.  My baby, who was still asleep was in the van.  She was a little sweaty, here it was 11:25.  25 minutes in the van, windows rolled up and everything.  Had this been a normal hot day out here, 25 minutes would have killed her!!!!

So many stories where babies have been left in cars, and I would say how could they not know?  How could they be so stupid.  I was proven wrong today.  It is possible.  I hate to think of the outcome had I assumed she was asleep in the room with hubby and I just went in our room to start cleaning.  It would have been hours.

When Keona woke up, I couldn't help but start crying when I looked at her.  Today could have been the worst day of our lives, Cherish your babies and kids.

Wow, I am so glad everything is ok and sorry that you got such a fright. Not long ago they had a lady on Oprah who did this but left her child in the car the whole day while she was teaching at school! She never took her baby to daycare, her husband always took her this morning he had an appt so she had to take her, the baby was asleep and she just went on auto pilot to work, the baby died of course, it was so sad watching her and how badly she was shunned and ridiculed..........I felt so bad for her it was really heart breaking for her and her husband, it was really hard to watch.
