Question: Please choose the option that best matches your opinion about driving while using a cell phone.

Options:

Driving while using a cell phone (hands-free or hand-held) or texting while driving should be against the law with strict consequences if caught.

Driving while texting or while using a hand-held cell phone should be against the law, with consequences if caught. However, I think it's okay to use a hands-free device, such as a blue tooth.

I see nothing wrong with using a cell phone (hands-free or hand-held), while driving. But, I think there should be a law prohibiting driving while texting.

I see nothing wrong with using a cell phone (hands-free or hand-held), while driving; and I see nothing wrong with texting while driving.

Talking on a cell phone while driving could be distracting, but texting should be allowed.

I think we have too many laws already. What's the big deal????

Here, in Ca. this is a BIG issue; the fine is no where NEAR steep enough.  People are DYING; and sadly, people are killing other people, adn will now never be the same...over a TEXT MESSAGE? Over a conversation that HAS to be had while you're driving?

No.

The Metro Link crash that just kille dpeople here in Northridge; the driver was TEXT MESSAGING SOMEONE, and killed himself, and ALL THOSE PEOPLE....was is THAT important?

This topic will definitely get some varied and passionate responses. I do not text while driving and do use my phone while driving. I should really use my blue tooth device while driving, and have no excuse for not doign so.

Ontario has just passed a law against driving while using a cell phone, texting or I believe even a GPS that requires hand control. I say bravo, it's about time!!!

Stay inspired!

It was "blindsided" by its cell phone and got into a wreck at the intersection cuz it was not paying attn to the street light.  Sadly, it almost cost its life!

Don't give me BS that it will NOT happen to you... but it WILL by others or YOURSELF!

this is the sad state of our lives today. Dr. PHil had a huge show about this very topic distracted drivers texting or talking on cell phones and causing accidnets. If people only knew that things happen every day and driving can be much safer if you do it with complete attention on the road. I live in the country I do not have time to be answering my phone while watching for our suicidal deer around here. Call me when I get home geesh

Hands free only, no texting?? When is a phone call important enough to make while driving? Shouldn't people pull over (unless an emergency)?

This is what I put

Driving while using a cell phone (hands-free or hand-held) or texting while driving should be against the law with strict consequences if caught.

Maybe I'm not smart enough to get it but how in the world can anyone text while driving and think they have control of ANY situation?  A vehicle is, in essence, a weapon.  Would someone take a gun and go target practice with their cell phone in the other hand while texting?  Wait, there are probably folks that would if they can't put their phone down long enough.  This is an issue close to me........too many of my teenager's classmates have been killed because of this very reason. Just because they're teens does NOT mean an adult is okay to text and drive.  Two of the deaths (they were in the car together) were caused by a parent on the way to the school and TEXTING and rammed into the kid's care.

I do answer my cell phone when I'm driving......for certain people.  I have a hands-free device, I answer calls from the school or a few others.........as I'm pulling off the road carefully to actually take the call and when I answer I usually answer it with, "Hey, I'm driving, hang on while I pull over."  Everyone has a distintive ring so I don't even have to look at the phone to see who's calling.
