I just finished the Twilight Saga. I usually don't read very often but it kinda became a habit when reading Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. I am finished now and need another good book to read. Let me know if any of you have read any good ones lately. I was told the Secret Life of Bee's is good.

Host by Stephenie Meyer (the lady that wrote the Twilight Saga) is really good.

The Meredith Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton is awesome, too.  (The 7th book comes out tomorrow, and I'm excited to get it.)  It's got some pretty racy sex scenes, though, so if you don't like those, don't go with this series.  They tie in, however, since the main character has to get pregnant or her cousin will kill her.

Freedom's Landing series by Anne McCaffrey is good, too.

(Reading is my one escape, so I do it as often as possible!)

Oh, and J.D. Robb's 'In Death' series is great, too!  There are 20 + books in the series, but they rock!  They're Sanctuary in Death, Born in Death, Holiday in Death, and so forth.

Pretty much anything by Anne McCaffery.  I havn't read her Freedom's Landing series, but I know that her Crystal Singer trilogy is fantastic.

Other than that, don't know what type of books you normally like, but anything by John Ringo is good, as well as Steve Alten.

Secret Life of Bees was very good.  Sue Monk Kidd's other book The Mermaid Chair - sucked in my opinion.  I didn't like it at all.

The Kite Runner is excellent.

The Color of Water by James McBride is a biography of his mother.  It's so good.

Everything by Frank McCourt.   I love to read all of Marian Keyes books,  as well as Maeve Binchy.  I have more if you are interested!  :)

If you want to stay on the lighter side like the Twilight books you should try the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.  It's also in the young adult section but I can't remember the author's name. Anything by Meg Cabot is also good.

I just finished Water for Elephants - that's a good one.

If you want a longer read go for The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory

Nov. 3, 2008 at 11:46 AM For light easy reading (and funny!) try Janet Evanovich's books- the Stephanie Plum series.

A Thousand Splendid Suns is wonderful (same author as Kite Runner but better imo)
