It's election day!!

I am so darn excited. I hope every single one of you gets out there and votes for our next President. This is such an important election. I feel privileged to be a part of it.

I am grateful to this election. I have never been so aware and excited of our political process. It has been a wonderful 20 months of CNN and MSNBC!
I am sure my TV will be on those stations for the next 24 hours.

Here in California, we have important propositions to vote for also. From energy, animal rights to gay rights. It is an important election for us on a local level. My children, even my Kindergartner, knows about our President and even on important Propositions that we are passionate about.

I am going to try to take my kids to vote with me, yes, even if I take them out of school for 30 minutes today. What a great day. Election day. We are so lucky to have this opportunity. I hope you also see it as an opportunity.

Please WAIT in line. Wait in the rain. Wait in the long lines to make your vote count.

HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!

I voted twice--once for my candidate more than a week ago, and once just now for your post. ;-)

Happy Election Day! I too am going to hit the polls during my lunch today! Hope you have a great one and I'm glad you're showing the children just how important this process is for our country!

I'm excited and nervous for the results! My nephew's middle school is holding it's own mock election day today...I think it's awesome...they set up a polling place in the cafeteria and the whole school comes in to "vote". It's a great lesson....I hope, looking back at this election year, that we can all agree on the fact that this particular race has gotten more people involved in our democracy than any other!

Nov. 4, 2008 at 11:40 AM I just got home from voting! I registered a few days ago and they asked if i wanted to vote then. I opted not to that way I could have the FULL experience today. Renne and I brought hendrix, waiting in a very very long line. H-man was pretty good, and there were other children around for him to get chummy with while we waited. THEN, after voting, I headed down to my local Starbucks, showed them my "I voted" sticker (which I'm still wearing and will all day) and they gave me a free tall coffee!.

Did you hear that ladies? Free coffee! And Ben & Jerrys will be giving away ice cream this evening to those who voted, and if you are lucky enough to live near a Crispy Creme, they are giving away free donuts. Good deal! Exercise your constitutional right by voting and then get some free grub!

Now, back to my coffee! : )

my kids totally got into it this year.  and the little old ladies working at the polls were smitten with them and asked who they voted for.  "we wont' tell anyone" they said.  the boys literally shouted, "O B A M A !!" with big old goofy grins ;-).
