eEDIT: I POSTED THIS AS A RESPECTFUL POST, PLEASE KEEP YOUR COMMENTS RESPECTFUL!

I know mccain did not win... But please for the love of God take a look at how graciously he is taking his loss.  Take notes and follow suit.  Some Obama supporters on here have been rude and I for one have  been one of them in very few instances and I sincerely apologize for anyone i aggravated.  But Mccain supporters follow his suit and take your loss.  Support your country if not the man at the head of it... but keep in mind he is not really at the head of our country, we are.  Wether mccain won or that obama did, we are who he is working for.  We are his boss not the other way around.

President Obama said this exactly one minute ago.. I am listening while I am typing "I may not have won your vote tonight... but i will be your president too"  How can you not stand behind your country?  Even if you don't like our president, love your country and support us... support your fellow americans...

I will give John McCain kudos for his speech. He was very gracious and a true gentleman. I know that there are many who are disappointed. Many of us were there 8 years ago and 4 years ago when President Bush was elected and then re-elected.  Now that it's over people can only do what people always do when their candidate doesn't win and that is to move on and to support their President even if they don't agree with him and didn't elect him.

You're absolutely right and I wrote similar sentiments in my own journal last night.  Some of the issues we face today is that too many people spent the last 8 years brooding and locking themselves into the us vs them, blue vs red mentality. It got us no where good. It's time for us all to move past that and back to a time when we could peacefully hand-over control of government no matter which person takes the helm and know that we are Americans first not political parties.

I am not happy about the win, but he did deserve it. Kudos to him for that

I'm very happy to hear that some McCain supporters are agreeing we all need to come together, but I just have to ask this question: If you are sitting with at least $100,000.00 in your bank account right now, disregard this, but those of us who are working 9 to 5 jobs, field jobs, union jobs etc... lose your homes, living in a 9 by 10 apt. or have a home but can barely make ends meet, where have you been the last 8 years, do you not see that it's time for change, are you rich? well off? or what wake up please The color of skin has nothing to do with this, people! the economy is at a BIG LOSS! Sorry, but a man name BUSH who is a republican has drained us in the last 8 years, if not you go outside and drive your neighborhood and look at your neighbors or it might be your own family members or friends, people my God! wake up! It's our time to make a change for the better. It's like a man beating a women for 8 years or more and the woman continues to stand by his side, would you do that? No...I didn't think so? So this why I'am a Barrack Obama supporter, I'm a black woman, if I accidently bump into a white person do our skin touching one another kill each other or does color rub off? No... ok then wake up, face the facts, history has been made for the better not the color. I can't stress this enough! To many Mccain supporters are in denial, well imagine how we felt when they had a mis count between Bush and Gore, when they really knew Gore had more votes, we had to deal with Bush being our President, and for 8 long years, hardworking, miserable years but we made it, we had to deal with it, we cried and sucked it up. So you McCain supporters stop the talk, stop the tears, and wake up and deal with it! Enough is Enough It's OUR TIME, SORRY!!!

You contradicted yourself...this sounded pretty racist and about the color of one's skin to me.

The irony is that the "rich" have been vilified by the Obama camp throughout this entire election and it was McCain who had about a 1/3 of the money Obama had. Remember, Obama bought 30mins on not one, but 4 networks. That's major bucks. Now he's going to came after the "rich". And yes, he won mostly because he was black. Also, only about 1/2 the country voted for him. He doesn't have a mandate.

But I'll give him his due and lets see where we are in 2 years before the mid-terms. If anything, the house and senate might revert back to the Republicans if he can't perform.
