An open letter to all the Obama supporters:

Congratulations on winning the election (unless the media is lying again). Enjoy your celebration. It will be short-lived. I’m not talking about the “we’re going to get even with you” politics that many times follows an election. I’m talking about being able to produce all the “positive” changes promised and mistakenly believed by the vast majority of Obama supporters.

Our forefathers knew what they were doing. They originally designed our government to ensure we all have individual freedoms and protection from others from infringing upon our rights to remain free. Contrary to what some may believe we don’t have a right to home ownership, a color TV, a vehicle, healthcare or a job. We have the opportunity to pursue all of them as long as we are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve them. That means we actually do what is necessary to succeed and not rely on government imposed entitlements. Our government operates. It does not “work”. It does not and has never produced any profit, income or GNP for anyone.

Based on the promises from the Obama campaign we are all in deep poop. When individual responsibility is sacrificed in the name of “fairness” we ALL will suffer. It might “feel good” for awhile but the reality will come home for all of us to suffer regardless of our social-economic status. You see you can only go so far with a limited number of wage earners and tax payers to pick up the load for the others in the name of fairness. Sooner or later the folks paying for everything will not be able to keep up with the demands to take care of others who either can’t take care of themselves or refuse to do so. Life is not fair! One needs to take some individual responsibility in order to succeed.  Just because some of us have parents who instilled a proper work ethic and the importance of education and morality upon us does not mean that others may have free rein on taking away what we have earned because they did not have the same advantages. If it were the other way around I’m positive you would understand. All that said; we all have a responsibility to take care of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. It is called charity. That doesn’t mean we dumb-down our country in the name of “fairness”. How would you feel if you were going to have a major surgery by someone who received a medical degree due to fairness, not merit? Would you want the best qualified doctor to operate on you? Who do you want flying your airplane? Hopefully you get the point. If not, you are part of the delusional electorate that (sorry if this offends you) really doesn’t get it.

Remember I previously mentioned the importance of preventing others from infringing upon our freedoms. I can only hope that all the campaign promises to take away our freedoms in the name of “what is best for us” stall by the wayside. “Partial birth” abortions are murder – plain and simple. Not a one of our mothers of any of us who are alive today decided to abort us. I guess they thought enough about us and our potential for mankind not to get rid of us for convenience. We don’t need someone to determine if law abiding citizens can own a gun or not. Take a look at the nations and many of our cities that have made owning a gun illegal. There are many of us who enjoy hunting wild game that have never shot at another human being. What are the crime rates, especially violent crimes, involving guns?

And speaking of terrorists, do you really think that “talking to and appeasing” those who are hell-bent on our destruction will prevent it from happening? I think not! Perhaps some of you have a very short memory from 9-11. It can happen again. Do you or one of your loved ones want to be a terrorist victim? If not then we need to do something other than have the UN determine what is best for us. The world is a complicated place and to think that others will not try to take our freedoms away is a major mistake.

eye rolling I know, because when Australia, Canada, and all those European countries started things like healthcare, they went down the toilet. (Oh wait... no they didn't.)
