(I posted this same blog on my MySpace page)

That seems to be the story anyway. How could any self respecting person that cares about the future of this country vote for Obama?? My question is, what happened to the democracy that this country was supposedly founded on? Don't I have the right to listen to the issues, listen to the candidates and what they plan on doing, and then make my own decision of what I feel is best for me and my family? I will not make my decision on what is best for Joe Shmoe next door. I apologize if that makes me stupid in your book.

To those that are spewing hatred and ignorance, I feel sorry for you. 100% of the people are never going to be satisfied, however you are making a choice to live in this country. If you don't like it, leave. No one is forcing you to be here. America is a free country. You have the right to leave at anytime, just like you have the right to throw your hatred out there for the rest of us to have to listen to. It is a sad day when adults are acting like children that didn't get a piece of candy from the grocery store. Isn't it better to try to come together as a nation and support the man that will be our next President?

Whether you like him or not, whether you voted for him or not, this is an incredible day for our country. Huge steps forward have been made by electing a black man for President. Perhaps those that can't see that are the same ones that will try to keep this country down and racism alive and well. I look forward to my kids and my grandkids never having this be an issue. When they are adults and able to vote it won't be a huge accomplishment if they see a black man and a white man on the ballot, it will just be normal.

One more thing...to those of you (And I have seen a few) that have claimed that you will no longer be supporting any celebrity that has publicly supported Obama, don't forget to ask the owner's of the grocery store you shop at, the gas station where you get your gas, the shop where you get your car repaired, the person who cuts your hair, the place where you buy your shoes, your doctor, your dentist, etc. exactly who they voted for. After all, you wouldn't want to be giving your hard earned money to someone that didn't vote the same way you did!

I think electing someone because they are black is racist, too. His being black shouldn't be an issue one way or another. I think those that cling to his color (even as a good thing) are being racist in their own way.It will be an even bigger step when no cares one way or the other the color of our presidents skin.

But that's just my opinion.

I do not think anyone is stupid for their vote. (just for not voting maybe) We live in a free country. It's impossible to please everyone. Are people really saying they will no longer buy from people that voted not their way, or support celebrities?? That's ridiculous!

I support my country, which means supporting our president no matter for whom I voted. I wonder if we will ever go back to how it used to be, when the Prez and the Vice Prez where from different parties... that'd be interesting- both parties would be represented.

Greatly put!  I didn't vote for Obama, but that doesn't meant that I don't have a certain respect for him!..People need to get over it and realize that he is our president elect and we need  to come together in a time of need for our country instead of this continuous bashing!
