WE HAVE FIVE CHILDREN AND I DONT WANT TO DISAPPOINT THEM.. I LIVE IN CENTERVILLE OHIO, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY ORGANIZATIONS WHERE I CAN GO GET SOME HELP.? NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS BUT WITH THANKSGIVING DINNER TOO.. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.. LOVE YOU ALL, HUGS, TONYA

Nov. 6, 2008 at 9:50 PM Check with your local Social Services or Welfare office. They should have a list of available charities, food pantries and gift givers. Also the salvation army used to do a lot around the holidays. We don't have one here, so I am not sure if they still do. Check with your local churches, many of them have gift drives and food banks. Hope this helps! Be honest with your kids about the hard times, they do understand. Remind them that this time is about love, family and faith, not receiving presents. We always have small christmas'. My kids don't get disappointed over lack of presents. Best wishes.
