I feel like such a horrible person...

... for having to give up my pets. We're being locked out of our property this Sunday and I still have nowhere to send my pets, 2 dogs/1 cat. I didn't do any research into kennels/rescues/shelters earlier because I thought that either we'd be able to take them with or they'd be able to go to my BF's parents' house. BF waited until the last minute to make sure it was ok, because he was SO sure that it would be, then they said NO. And, we had just signed the lease on an apartment and my dogs are +50lbs (too big for apt) and no room for a cat and our 18mo DD. In reality, we have room for the cat, but bf doesn't want her all over the baby's stuff which is totally understandable, but I've had this cat for 15+ years and it seems so irresponsible to just let her go... and to a shelter! Horrible!!! This will make me cry worse than losing the house I grew up in simply because my bro is greedy and wants his inheritance that he wasn't supposed to be entitled to but will get anyway. I wish I had done more research early. I'm finding out tons of important stuff about my dogs' breeds' that I wish I had known this whole time that we've had them (~15yrs). My heart hurts so much over this; I just can't believe this is happening, and like this. I am so heartbroken.

Nov. 13, 2008 at 1:43 PM What about finding a friend who could take them, either temporarily or permanently or as a last resort make sure you find a no kill/rescue shelter for them. There must be something that can be done. I am so sorry to hear what you are going through - and this is a time when your fur babies should be with you - they are a tremendous amount of support!!!
